Role Overview:
Set-up, assemble, and test Norgren products, including complex specials, while using proper blueprints and work instructions. Duties may also include operation of drill presses, lathes, and other manual machines on a regular basis, as well as providing on-the-job training of new or less experienced employees when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and test standard or complex special valves, kits, or subassemblies according to work instructions, blueprints, and knowledge of unit, ensuring the quality of products being made are within Norgren standards, resulting in customer satisfaction.
  • Recognize potential problems with products and processes to ensure that Norgren quality standards are maintained.
  • Ensure productivity is maintained at 100% or above to minimize cost to the department, while maintaining schedule integrity.
  • Ensure that accuracy, neatness, and legibility of paperwork is maintained, minimizing cost to the department through elimination of tracking and corrections of mistakes.
  • Maintain and increase job skills to allow for flexibility within the Department.
  • Provide positive team atmosphere through effective communications and respect for fellow employees.
  • Provide on-the-job training of new or less experienced employees when required.
  • May provide technical assistance to engineers in establishing the feasibility of customer requests.
  • Operate drill presses, lathes and other manual machines successfully within the department as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • 2-4 years mechanical assembly experience with a variety of tools; work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience operating drill presses, lathes, and other manual machines a plus.
  • Must have basic mechanical knowledge and be able to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, and controls.
  • Must have good working knowledge of basic math, to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages and decimals.
  • Must have basic reading comprehension and writing skills, able to work from verbal and written instructions, and be capable of working with computer terminals and complete routine paperwork.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend engineering prints, assembly process sketches, and procedures.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of processes within the department and be able to train others.

 

Pay range: Minimum $38k-40k

Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
