The Head of Quality, APAC will lead and shape the Quality function for Industrial Automation across the region. This role will champion a progressive, high-performing quality strategy while driving critical initiatives such as localisation (VAVE) and new product introduction to support business growth.

This is a unique opportunity to build and elevate a best-in-class quality organisation, driving continuous improvement, strengthening capabilities across multiple manufacturing sites, and ensuring consistent, high standards of quality excellence and customer satisfaction across APAC.

Key Responsibilities

1. Regional Quality Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and implement the APAC Quality strategy aligned with business and growth objectives
  • Provide strong leadership to uplift the capabilities of a relatively junior quality organisation
  • Act as the key escalation point for critical quality issues across the region

2. Multi-site Quality Management

  • Oversee quality performance across major manufacturing sites (China, India, ANZ) and other APAC locations
  • Standardise quality processes, systems, and KPIs across all sites
  • Ensure effective governance and accountability through site-level quality leaders

3. Customer Quality & Risk Management

  • Lead the resolution of major quality issues, including customer complaints and field failures
  • Implement robust corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence
  • Manage quality-related risks, including potential penalties, claims, and product recalls

4. New Product Quality & APQP

  • Drive the deployment and governance of APQP, PPAP, and quality planning frameworks
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Operations, and R&D during design and industrialisation phases
  • Ensure quality is embedded early in the product lifecycle to minimise downstream issues

5. VAVE & Localisation

  • Support VAVE and localisation initiatives through robust quality validation processes
  • Balance cost optimisation with product reliability and compliance requirements

6. Supplier Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive supplier quality performance through audits, scorecards, and capability development
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes
  • Foster a strong culture of quality excellence and accountability across the region

7. Organisation & Capability Building

  • Build and develop a high-performing, future-ready quality organisation
  • Coach and develop site quality leaders and teams
  • Strengthen technical expertise in core quality tools and methodologies

Requirements

Experience & Background

  • 15+ years of experience in Quality leadership within manufacturing environments
  • Strong preference for automotive or automotive-tier background
  • Proven experience managing multiple manufacturing sites (minimum 2+)
  • Regional or cross-country experience is advantageous

Technical Expertise

  • Deep expertise in:
    • APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and core quality tools
    • New product introduction and industrialisation quality
    • Customer and supplier quality management

Leadership & Capability

  • Strong track record of leading and transforming quality organisations
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels
  • Strong stakeholder management across Operations, Engineering, and senior leadership

  • Willingness to travel across APAC
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Experience in high-mix, multi-site manufacturing environments preferred
