Role Overview:

This internship is a part of the Operations Engineering department, supporting manufacturing lines that produce syringes, pumps, and motors for a range of analytical instrumentation in the Life Sciences industry. As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern, you will be focused on process analysis and auditing workflows, finding areas for continuous improvement. In collaboration with experienced manufacturing engineers, you will develop solutions and implement improvements to improve yield and operational efficiency. This role offers hands-on experience with process optimization and engineering controls, which are critical to maintaining high-quality output.

Supervision and Mentorship

The intern will receive mentorship, regular check-ins, and development opportunities throughout the internship


Work Environment: Onsite

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct process audits on the manufacturing floor to identify deviations, failures, and opportunities for improvement
  • Analyze production data to track progress and propose solutions to improve yield and throughput
  • Work closely with experienced manufacturing engineers to review current engineering controls and support the development and implementation of advanced technical solutions.
  • Implement in-process controls to reduce scrap and prevent over-processing

Education and Experience

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Strong interest in project management and process development.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical thinking.
  • Interest in process optimization, continuous improvement, and manufacturing systems
  • Familiarity with Excel data processing tools (Pivot tables, Macros, etc…) 

 

Pay range: $24.00/hour

Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
