Role Overview:

.We are seeking an experienced CMM Programmer to join our Life Science Team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating and programming ZEISS Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) using CALYPSO software. This role is responsible for performing first article, in-process, and final inspections of precision-machined components, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. The successful candidate must also possess strong manual inspection skills and a thorough understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).

Work Environment: 

Pay range: $35-45/hr

Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.

Key Responsibilites:

  • Program, operate, and troubleshoot ZEISS CMMs using CALYPSO software.
  • Develop, modify, and optimize CMM inspection programs for new and existing products.
  • Perform first article, in-process, final, and capability inspections.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Conduct manual inspections using precision measuring equipment, including:
    • Micrometers
    • Calipers
    • Height gages
    • Bore gages
    • Optical comparators
    • Other inspection tools as required
  • Verify product conformity to GD&T requirements and customer specifications.
  • Analyze inspection data and generate detailed inspection reports using Microsoft Excel.
  • Investigate dimensional nonconformances and support root cause analysis activities.
  • Maintain calibration awareness and proper care of inspection equipment.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and quality system requirements.

Critical Competencies for Success:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience operating and programming ZEISS CMMs using CALYPSO.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of GD&T
  • Experience inspecting precision-machined components.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency using standard metrology and inspection equipment.
  • Experience generating inspection reports and documenting inspection results.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
  • Experience supporting PPAP, FAI, and validation activities.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems.
