Summary/Objective of the Position:

 

Develop and maintain, under the procedures established in the IMI PE QRO quality system and the lean manufacturing philosophy, the manufacturing processes for the production of quality and low cost products.

 Essential Job Roles and Responsibilities:

1.      Lead continuous improvement projects focused on improving key business indicators (Scrap, FPY, Productivity)

2.     Develop advanced engineering solutions for problem solving using statistical analysis, simulations or digital tools (DOE, SPC, regression analysis).

3.     Develop, optimize, and maintain standard work ensuring alignment with actual cycle times, operational requirements, and lean manufacturing best practices

4.     Perform calculations of installed capacity, available capacity, and workload per machine or process, using data analysis tools and time studies

5.     Evaluate the use of machinery to identify bottlenecks, propose redistribution of resources, and support planning, expansion, or equipment investment decisions.

6.     Design, evaluate and implement automation and control technologies (smart sensors, PLCs, machine vision, traceability systems or industrial IoT) to improve efficiency, repeatability, operational safety and process stability.

7.     Lead manufacturing activities in project launches ensuring compliance with APQP/PPAP deliverable phases.

8.     Participate in the risk analysis in the operations under their responsibility and establish preventive actions when considered necessary in ergonomics, safety and environmental issues.

9.     Participate in security audits of new processes or changes to them.

10.  Implement lean manufacturing systems in a structured manner: SMED, standard work, complex Poka Yoke

11.   Update process paths, cycle times and set-up time in the system.

12.   Develop strategic plans to achieve annual objectives in their area of charge

13.   Knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements

14.   Effective use of data: analytics, metrics, dashboards

15.   Contribute to the achievement of the organization's environmental objectives through proper compliance with internal environmental procedures and policy, as well as the legal and governmental requirements that apply in environmental matters.

 

Job Requirements:

Level of Education and Experience:

1.      Bachelor's Degree / Finished Engineering (Specialty: Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronics, or similar)

2.     At least 8 years of experience in Process Engineering or similar positions.

3.     Troubleshooting Tools (8D's, 5 Whys? or similar)

4.     Experience in implementation in trial and error systems (Poka Yoke).

5.     Advanced English
