Role Overview:

The Senior Pricing & Quoting Manager for the Industrial Automation Americas group leads the Americas Pricing & Quoting team to ensure execution of the business’ overall pricing objectives and budget. This Manager partners with business and functional leaders to identify areas of price opportunity, perform data and market driven analytics and intelligence to support price decisions, develop recommendations for price improvement, manage the quotation process, provide support for the execution of change management activities and price performance tracking. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong pricing intuition, pragmatic problem-solving approach, and ability to influence partners at different levels of the organization to drive outcomes in a matrix environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the businesses and functions across Americas to identify, develop and execute industry leading pricing strategies.
  • Lead and drive transformational performance improvement in pricing, focused on increasing sales, improving gross margins and operating profit.
  • Analyse business value chains to establish the most appropriate transfer pricing policy.
  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers, while developing and maintaining procedures and policies focused on pricing accuracy and profit maximization.
  • Act as subject matter expert for the organization on pricing strategies; present strategies and tactics to leadership in a variety of organizational settings.
  • Provide strategic and analytical leadership to develop recommendations for enhanced price levels, policies and processes.
  • Monitor market pricing and work with product managers to incorporate competitor benchmarking to optimize price-value positioning for the portfolio, including during the new product introduction (NPI) process to competitively position new product offerings.
  • Manage the entire pricing project lifecycle for Americas, including:
    • Initial identification of price opportunities
    • Collection and analysis of data that drives recommended price actions.
    • Recommendations and tools to deliver improved pricing.
    • Training and change management processes that support ongoing execution.
  • Oversee and coordinate critical pricing processes including the annual pricing update, development and enhancements for recommended pricing guidelines, the quotation process and the setting of list and customer net pricing.
  • Make pricing decisions within established pricing policy guidelines.
  • Prepare and analyse business cases (what if analysis) related to sales, pricing, and gross margins in order to provide senior management with additional information and recommendations. 
  • Demonstrate strategic and thought leadership in developing new quantitative, qualitative pricing guidelines using statistical techniques. Be an organizational subject matter expert on frameworks and approaches including, but not limited to, new product pricing, services pricing, channel dynamics, pricing bands and reacting to competitive price changes.
  • Lead the development of new processes and programs to help automate the pricing processes and metrics tracking for Americas.
  • Lead meetings in the monthly pricing calls and lead the discussion for Americas.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Critical Competencies for Success:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics or Business from four-year College or University. M.B.A. is preferred.
  • Eight (8) to ten (10) years’ experience in strategic pricing, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience as a business analyst with demonstrated ability to synthesize information and present to senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical, statistical, and financial skills. Able to use business acumen to apply these skills to model complex business cases and provide clear recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems in a timely manner with great attention to detail.
  • Team oriented and collaborative, with a proven ability to work with diverse, cross-functional organizations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to lead projects and teams.
  • Advanced and demonstrated knowledge of MS Office Suite, specifically MS Excel.
  • Strong working knowledge of database structure, tools and SQL.
  • Expert level ERP knowledge, preferably JDE.

Pay range: $160k-$170k

Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.

Bonus eligibility: This position is also eligible for a variable incentive pay component, separate from base salary.
