Role Overview:
Comply with all customs regulations that are required in a timely manner, to which the companies of the IMI Group in Mexico are obliged, which impact our operation, including but not limiting the operation of the Queretaro company as an operator of an IMMEX Program under the Maquiladora modality, as well as a VAT and IEPS certification in AAA modality, always in compliance with current regulations seeking to minimize the impacts on the operation of the same companies, serving as the main contact for IMI Precision in Mexico with the government agencies on which the Foreign Trade Regulations affect and developing specific strategies with matters related to Foreign Trade regulatory situations. Likewise, it provides advice on new regulations that impact the operation of the plant regarding its Foreign Trade operations, its IMMEX and VAT Certification Programs. Observe and qualify the company's products through the regulatory framework imposed by the NAFTA treaty as well as the issuance of corresponding certificates with the precise information to the company in the United States of America
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with Foreign Trade regulations when executing IMI Precision Engineering operations in Mexico.
- Manage notices, reports and statements to the corresponding Authorities in accordance with the regulatory framework.
- Ensure the continued operation of the IMMEX, PROSEC and VAT and IEPS Certifications programs, or any other program related to Foreign Trade, of IMI Precision under its applicable regulatory framework and the timely monitoring of established obligations.
- Supervise and control the processes and activities related to the generation of NAFTA Certificates, as well as the correct filling out of the record of foreign trade operations within the inventory control system of Annex 24 and Annex 31.
- Support compliance with any current regulations to other departments, always seeking to reduce risks in foreign trade operations
Critical Competencies for Success
- Required education: bachelor’s degree in foreign Trade
- Seven years of experience in foreign trade in operations with IMMEX programs under the Maquila modality.
- Management skills (at least three years leading a team)
- Alignment to Procedures and Norms
- Negotiation ability
- MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook) at advanced level
- SCI o software or equivalent to manage customs inventories
