Role Overview:

The Site Accounting Lead will manage the site's Accounting and Finance functions through hands on involvement in preparation of Trial Balance, month-end/year-end reporting, supervising the processing of AP/AR, as well as assets accounting. This position is the business partner to Site and Business unit management with an active role in improving transparency on and driving business performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and timely internal reporting on operating results and financial condition and support external reporting requirements.
  • Perform and/or supervise hands on services that include processing of AR/AP, county taxes administration, and period end journals.
  • Create budgets and forecasts, report on variances and communicate to stakeholders 
  • Ensure the adequacy of the accounting system as the basis for reporting to management and to comply with internal and external policies.
  • Oversee monthly Trial Balance and ensure accurate month-end accruals are maintained.
  • Manage the weekly check run process including the approval of the "proposed payment list" prior to the check run; it is then reconciled to the final check run and any differences substantiated.
  • Prepare Electronic files for submission to Wells Fargo via Payment Manager and Positive Pay process. Initiate any outgoing wire transfer payments.
  • Prepare Business Case analysis for proposed Capital Expenditure and New Product Development projects.
  • Responsible for development of internal financial reports and supporting external Financial Management Reporting for the site, including COGNOS reporting system and variance analysis.
  • Develop quarterly forecasts and annual budget in coordination with the site’s Management team.
  • Monitor and ensure the site’s adherence to the Delegation of Authority document.
  • Develop annual assumptions used in the calculation of the annual cost roll: purchased material costs, labor rates by resource and overhead burdens.
  • Provide financial guidance and accounting leadership for annual physical inventory planning and counting.
  • Assist in internal and external audit reviews where necessary.
  • Perform various reconciliations, problem solving and cost accounting as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal policies, relevant local, state, federal, and international regulations, and ensure filings are completed timely.
  • Develop and oversee the Internal Review function to ensure that finance and operations controls and policies follow Government and IMI controls and policies. Ensure effective follow up processes are in place.
  • Ensure appropriate legal review of contracts and solicit internal legal advice as required.
  • Develop cash flow forecasting and maintain a long-term cash forecast.
  • Provide guidance to site personnel on accounting and finance issues such as: financial practices, GAAP, IFRS, cost management, supply chain and manufacturing/operations.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

 

Critical Competencies for Success

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Epicor or other ERP system experience desired.

 

Pay range: $90,000 - $105,000

Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
