Role Overview:

The Scheduler has responsibility for issuing sequenced and level loaded production schedules in accordance with Pull System methodology in order to meet on time delivery and overall equipment effectiveness goals.  This includes expertise in capacity modeling, Heijunka leveling and management of shop-stock and supermarket Kanban replenishment signals.  The Scheduler coordinates daily with the Production Planners, Procurement and Management to resolve issues impacting schedule adherence and on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the effort to develop, manage, and administer scheduling of production machines to meet customer’s requirements, while minimizing the amount of working capital required.
  • Prepare master production schedule and coordinate manufacturing activities to meet demand, maintain service level targets and meet cost objectives.
  • Manage demand load versus capacity at a Work Center level to ensure Customer OTD requirements.
  • Estimate production time for each order giving consideration to availability of machines, material and tooling, number of operations involved, manufacturing backlog, order quantity, complexity of product, previous history, outside operations, etc.
  • Monitor finished goods and WIP inventory and analyze requirements in order to develop Pull System strategies targeted at improved lead times, fill rates, and inventory targets.
  • Schedule and monitor input and output, using the Master Production Schedule Materials Requirement Planning and priority planning reports.
  • Participate in daily production meetings to discuss current and future production.  
  • Identify problems in supporting customer requirements and coordinate efforts of manufacturing and support groups to prevent or resolve issues and maintain integrity of schedule dates.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with production processes, inventory management systems, and scheduling software. 
  • Experience: Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is highly desirable. 
  • Education: A bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., supply chain management, business management) is preferred. 
  • Certifications: Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or other relevant certifications can be advantageous.

Pay range:  $72k-$82k

Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
