Role Overview

The CNC Machinist will produce machined parts by setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.

This position would involve setup and operation of various CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers for manufacture of laboratory and medical device components. Minimum of 2 years experience setting up and/or operating machining centers is preferred for this position. Our PA operation manufactures a variety of aluminum, stainless steel and plastic components for the scientific, laboratory and medical device community as well as various other industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sets-up and/or operation of CNC mills and lathes
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards.
  • Maintains specifications by observing machining operations and adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Critical Competencies for Success

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Functional and Technical Skills applicable to the operation of CNC machinery.
  • 1-3 years working with CNC machinery and/or the completion of a CNC education program.
