Role Overview:
Develop suppliers and ensure that they meet the necessary business specifications in terms of quality and in accordance with corporate and Norgren Manufacturing de México policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement actions with the supplier to lead it to a rating within the acceptable parameters of the SAS (Supplier Assessment Survey) in the points that directly concern the quality management system; this includes the implementation of SPP (Supplier Partnership Program) tools and procedures.
- Monitor the integration of components with developed or new suppliers through the coordination of actions between plant and supplier such as: a. Development of the APQP with suppliers and monitoring of the Project Program (timing):
Develop the Phase in-Phase out.
Technical reviews (Supplier / Plant(s)).
Is responsible for the prototyping and launch phases of new components and Management of the FAI and approval of the PPAP from external suppliers.
Change Request Management. (CR).
Application of on-site audits with suppliers (SAS, CQI's and/or VDA 6.3).
Administración del Supplier Partnership Program (SPP).
- Generate, together with the areas involved, action plans for compliance with the performance indicators of suppliers (PPM's; OTD; DMR's),
- Execute and follow up on second-party audits in accordance with the "SPP" (Supplier Partnership Program) or in accordance with Norgren's audit plan.
- Is responsible for matching the specific requirements of customers with the Suppliers, in such a way that the customer's requirements for the sub-suppliers are met.
- Issue or update inspection reports necessary for the release of components.
- Keep the quality certificates of the suppliers updated in the quality certificate database and request the supplier when it is about to expire.
- Provide Supplier with the most current version of Norgren's SPM "Supplier Performance Manual", as well as ensure understanding and acceptance of it.
- Keep the information on the list of approved Suppliers up to date and request any additional requirements that may be required by the client.
- Issue the monthly performance scorecard of suppliers, notifying and requesting from suppliers with low performance action plans necessary to improve their performance.
- Participate in the selection process for new or transfer suppliers.
Critical Competencies for Success
- Bachelor´s degree in Mechanical Engineer, Industrial Engineer or similar
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a SQA, SDE, quality engineer/auditor with experience manufacturing or metalworking industry.
- Fluent English, able to establish business communication.
- Handling of conventional measuring equipment.
- Interpretation of plans (GD&T).
- Internal auditor most current version ISO 9001:2015
- Core tools latest version (APQP, MSA, SPC, PPAP, AMEF).
- Audit of CQI Special Processes (According to "Commodity")
- Problem-solving methodology.
- Root cause analysis tools.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, such as: plastic injection, casting (aluminum/zamac), machining, painting and assembly
- MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook) Advance level
- Microsoft Project
- Minitab
- JDE
