Role Overview:
Develop and implement purchasing strategies for direct materials, ensuring continuity of supply and alignment with corporate guidelines. In addition, the Strategic Buyer owns the business relationship with suppliers at the site level, promoting strong and resilient relationships that ensure reliable supply and effective management of business conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop the purchasing strategy for direct materials based on: SWOT analysis of the supply chain Market Analysis and Exploration Mitigation of supply risk of different natures International market conditions
- New supplier integration and development projects due to the need for plant capacity Projected Savings Plans (PPVs)
- Implement the strategy, processes and follow up on the purchasing guidelines of the category.
- Develop and maintain the business relationship with the supplier and determine and manage the form of leverage with the supplier, ensuring proactive compliance management and continuous improvement.
- Manage the removal of barriers with their peers for the execution of projects that are part of the category's strategy or immediate needs of the operation, monitoring supply risks (capacity, obsolescence, quality, logistics) and define contingency strategies and alternative supplier development.
- Manage the life cycle of key tools, ensuring their availability, preventive and corrective maintenance in coordination with the mold and engineering area.
- Based on the performance indicators of the suppliers, these indicators are: On time delivery PPM DMR's, PPV and VA/VE Provide support in the price area to the implementation of engineering changes.
- Identify risks associated with wear, damage, or loss of tools, and define action plans to mitigate their impact on operational continuity. Own the business relationship with suppliers at the site level, ensuring proactive compliance management and continuous improvement.
- Ensure the integrity, reliability and timely updating of business information in the ERP system, including pricing, lead time, payment terms, incoterms, MOQ and key conditions.
- Contribute to the achievement of the organization's environmental objectives through proper compliance with internal environmental procedures and policy, as well as the legal and governmental requirements that apply in environmental matters.
Critical Competencies for Success
- Bachelor of Industrial Engineering / Business Administration
- 5 Years of experience as a Senior Buyer in high mix and medium low volume industries and high engineering content components.
- Fluent English, able to establish business communication.
- Project management and management Intermediate level (Desirable).

- MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
