Role Overview

Verify compliance with specifications, engineering drawings and regulatory requirements with the most current version (ISO 9001, IATF/ISO TS 16949, CSR, UL, NSF), in the direct material supplied by suppliers to IMI Precision Engineering, contributing to the quality assurance of the final product.

Work Environment: This role is on-site

Key Responsibilities

·       Coordinate visits, audits and conferences with underperforming and/or repeat offender suppliers.

·   Generate and notify non-conforming material (DMR) reports to suppliers when direct materials that do not comply with specifications or engineering drawings are detected, either during their inspection, or during their use by the internal customer.

·      Manage the DMR's (supplier rejection) process by monitoring the timely implementation of the following phases by suppliers: containment, root cause analysis, closure of corrective actions and effectiveness of corrective actions.

·       Perform analysis of problems reported by internal and external customers, to determine if the root cause of the reported failure is assigned to a purchased component.

·       Provide disposal of non-conforming material from the supplier within the requirements established in the quality system, either through credit or replacement of defective material, ensuring the disposition of the material in the time established in the quality system.

·     Define the containment of defective material throughout the supply chain within the requirements established in the quality system, assigning priorities, ensuring its execution with visual aids and/or work instructions as applicable.

·    Generate monthly reports on the performance of suppliers, work together with the SDE's defining work strategies with the supplier for their development and/or ensure the effectiveness of corrective actions from their process until the arrival of the material at the IMI Precision Engineering plant.

·       Participate in the process of evaluating and approving new or modified parts, either from existing suppliers or integration.

Level of Education and Experience:

·       Bachelor's Degree / Engineering Completed.

·       3 years of experience in the areas of Quality Assurance to Suppliers or Quality Engineer

·       Handling of conventional measuring equipment.

·       Interpretation of plans (GD&T).

·       Internal auditor most current version ISO 9001, IATF/ISO TS 16949.

·       Core tools version (APQP, MSA, SPC, PPAP, AMEFP).

·       Troubleshooting methodology such as 8D (8 disciplines), 7S (7 steps), 5PH (5 phases).

·       Root cause analysis tools (Cause and Effect Diagram/Ishikawa, It's/It's Not, 5 Why's, Tree Diagram).

·       Advanced English.

·       Knowledge of plastic injection processes, casting (aluminum/zamac), machining, painting and assembly.

Required Software:

·       MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook) at one level: Intermediate

·       JDE level: Intermediate.
