Role Overview:

The Staff/Junior Accountant will join a global corporate department, working with the US Head of Tax and the Finance Directors at the local US operating sites.

  • In this role the candidate will be responsible for financial statement support, US income tax compliance support, data analysis, and work with external tax advisors.
  • The candidate should be comfortable in a fast paced, dynamic environment, and able to handle a diverse range of projects and responsibilities.

Location: Opportunity for remote/hybrid schedule.  Preferred locations – Denver, CO; Minneapolis, MN. Hybrid schedule for first 90 days for training.  Then remote.
Job type: Full Time
Pay Range: $60,000 to $72,000 annual base salary, depending on experience

Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Experience: Prefer 1+ years, new graduates welcome
 
Responsibilities:

  • Accumulate, organize, consolidate, reconcile, analyze, interpret, and report financial data for management, tax advisors and government agencies
  • Assist with bookkeeping, vendor payments, and reporting tasks for US holding company including daily cash and month end close
  • Assist with the management of the annual income tax compliance process, which includes a variety of federal, state, and international reporting
  • Assist with planning and reporting issues, which include opening tax balances, financial statement impacts, and planning post acquisition integration
  • Effectively manage confidential information, including payroll information, budgets, and forecasts
  • Assist with documentation of work processes including recommendations for improvements

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Preferably experience with data analysis
  • Experience with tax compliance, forecasting, and inbound/outbound tax issues a plus
  • Experience working with or for a large multinational organization a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work cross functionally

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills, and organizational skills
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work collaboratively and constructively within the organization and with external advisors
  • Solid knowledge of debits & credits and account reconciliations
  • Proven ability to effectively handle highly confidential situations and uphold principals of morality and ethics while demonstrating the highest standards of honesty and reliability
  • Proactively communicates issues or concerns

Computers and Technology

  • Working knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables and XLOOKUP formulas required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required 
  • Working knowledge of Power Query (Data Get & Transform), or similar is a plus
  • Working knowledge of tax research software a plus
  • Working knowledge of Cognos or Sage Accounting software a plus
